Description
Golden Reflections of Canadian Wildlife
Canadian wildlife is as diverse as it is fascinating. It spans unique species across the vastness of our lands and the depths of our waters. The Canadian landscape hosts 194 different species of mammals amid its oceans, plains, forests and mountains. This fauna makes up an essential part of Canadian identity. Its beauty continues to captivate us, even in the merciless relationship of predator and prey.
The Golden Reflections: Predator and Prey series celebrates wildlife, a favorite theme among collectors. Award-winning Canadian wildlife artist W. Allan Hancock authors the design of this series. Every coin is masterfully engraved and plated in gold. Every coin features a scene with animals that are characteristic to the Canadian fauna. The first focuses on orcas and sea lions – predator and prey native to the Pacific coast. Against the backdrop of the gorgeous Canadian wilderness, these two constitute a dynamic composition. The Reflections theme transpires in the gorgeous ripples of water that make otherwise still scenes feel as though they come to life.
