Celebrating the innovative medium that made the light show possible, the 2019 ?Lights on Parliament Hill? fine silver coin seizes this enchanting moment. The coin features a unique ?Colour Reveal? technology, an innovative premiere for the Mint. Using a black light on the coin, the fine details of the Peace Tower come to life like Northern Lights, the sound and light show on Parliament Hill.

- Amazing technology. What technology turns Parliament Hill into a screen of over 143 meters long and 30 storeys high? 17 different projectors work together to form a seamless image on the front fa?ade of Centre Block, creating a high-definition visual and sound experience.
- Open to the public. Northern Lights is a free bilingual show presented nightly from
early-July to early-September by Canadian Heritage. More than one million visitors have seen the show since its inception!
DESIGN
The reverse design features the finely etched Peace Tower on Parliament Hill, based on a photo by the Mint?s own Matt Eggink. It?s equipped with a unique ?Colour Reveal? technology, never seen before in the world of minting. The coin lights up in the dark using a black light, reminiscent of the real Northern Lights illuminating the Parliament at night.
