Britannia Silver Coin of Great Britain
The Silver Britannia coins feature the well-known image of Britannia standing her ground in the face of a fierce storm. This design has served as the nation of Britain’s monetary representation since the Roman era. To add even more security, the coin’s design was improved in 2021 with surface motion, a latent picture, tincture lines, and tiny writing. Along with single coins, mint tubes of 25 Silver Britannias and sealed 500-coin Monster Boxes are available for purchase.
The Great Britain Britannia Coin Series
The Royal Mint started producing the 1 oz Silver Britannia coin in 1997 as a Proof coin, and subsequently as a bullion currency in 1998. The 1 oz Gold Britannia coins were first introduced as 1 oz Gold Britannia coins in 1987. The silver content of coins produced between 1998 and 2012 is.958 fine silver, and starting in 2013, bullion offerings were the first to use.999 fine silver. Currently, the Britannia coin series is minted yearly in a variety of sizes in Gold, Platinum, and Silver Britannia coins, both in Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof versions with a small mintage. The final Britannia with the effigy of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was released by The Royal Mint in 2023. This was produced in a limited quantity, and this was followed by the introduction of the 2023 Britannia coins featuring the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III. As the first year in which there are two reigning kings, 2023 is a pivotal year in the coin’s history.
