History Education of precious Metals
We all know that history repeats itself, let’s take a look at the history of currency, the devaluation of currency and the downfall of the societies that devalue their currency (even when their currency was precious metals.[star_list]
- For over 2400 years governments debase and dilute their money supply until a point where the common psyche of the populace and the collective mind of the country begin to feel something is not right.
- People go back to what is natural – Gold and Silver.
- Two major natural economic cycles that repeat stock cycle and commodities cycle.
- Third cycle is less known called: the currency cycle, where societies start with quality money then move to quantity currency and then back again.
- Currency is derived from the word current, a current must keep moving or it dies.
- Currency does not store value in and of itself rather it is a medium whereby you can transfer value from one asset to another.
- In about 680 B.C. Created the “Face Value” currency by imprinting face value on the coin (all currency was in metals at the time, no paper.
- They discovered that you can mix 50% copper into gold and silver to double the amount, which is today referred to as deficit spending.
- When people figured out that there was more currency and the value was divided the coins became nothing more then currency.
- Then Rome supplanted the Greek empire and instead of devaluing the currency by mixing in cheaper metals they revalued their coins with a higher face value.
- By the time Diocletian ascended to the throne in A.D. 284 the Roman coins were nothing more then tin plated copper or bronze, and inflation was raging.
- In 301 A.D. A pound of gold was worth 50,000 denari, but by mid century 50 years later a pound of gold was worth 2.12 billion denari.
- In our era, the gold and silver are considered as the best investment for all investors all over the world.
