The year 2017 is ruled by the confident Rooster, who embodies character traits such as resourcefulness, perceptiveness and self-assurance. Individuals born under this sign are typically honest, forthright and trustworthy; while the Rooster personality is extremely sociable and yearns to be in the spotlight, he/she is also a motivated hard worker and a devoted friend. Celebrate 2017 as the Year of the Rooster with this magnificent silver coin, which honours all who are born under its sign.

The reverse design by Three Degrees Creative Group commemorates 2017 as the Year of the Rooster with an intricate side profile view of its animal representative. Detailed engraving recreates the rooster’s feathered appearance and captures the essence of the animal’s character: observant, resourceful and self-assured. Other elements associated with this sign are artfully incorporated into the design including the five gladiolus flowers that represent the Rooster’s lucky number, 5. The use of vibrant coloured enamel is also emblematic, as red brings an element of luck to the square shape that bears the engraved Chinese character for rooster.

A magnificent celebration of the time-honoured traditions and culture of Canada’s Chinese communities.
