The Chinese Gold Panda coin was introduced by the Chinese Mint in 1982 and is the official gold bullion coin of China. This coin is among the oldest modern bullion coins.
Chinese Gold Panda coins are a part of yearly series released annually with a different obverse design each year. Only in the year 2002, the mint repeated the design of 2001.
The obverse side of all 2018 30 Gram Chinese Gold Panda Coin featkures an image of Panda. This bear species is native to China and is the symbol of the nation. Majour portion of its diet comes from herbivorous sources such as bamboo.
The reverse of this coin also features the same repeated design of Temple of Heaven since 1982. The nation of issue is engraved in the Mandarin and year of issue in arabic numerals.
In the year 2016, the mint shifted to metric weights from troy ounces and hence this coin is 30 gram instead of 1 troy ounce. 2018 release is the mark of third year issue in this series
