Description
This five-coin set from 2023 honours Canada and works well as a gift or collectable. Five cent, ten cent, twenty-five cent, one-of-a-kind dollar, and two-dollar coins are all included in the set in excellent numismatic uncirculated condition. The set’s centrepiece is a $1 coin that was never intended for circulation and is unique to this collection. The coin is designed with a colourful image of a moose, maple leaves on either side, and Canadian flags strung between the horns.
The set can be customised by writing a special message in the space provided on the package, which also eliminates the need for a separate card. It is flat and simple to mail.
The obverse designs of this coin set include a posthumous effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with the addition of the double dates of her reign, 1952–2022, as replacement King Charles III dies were not yet prepared for this coin set. The four pearls or dots in the spaces in between the dates are meant to symbolise the four effigies of the Queen that have featured on Canadian coinage over the years. Each coin in the collection is a special collector’s issue because the Royal Canadian Mint has said that they do not intend to release any of these 2023-dated Queen Elizabeth effigy coins for public circulation.
Looking for a humorous memento, a traditional Canadian gift, or a way to show your appreciation for this nation? Keep your memories of Canada in 2023 by using the O Canada Gift Card Set. Five 2023-dated Canadian non-circulation coins that provide an insight into the country’s character and natural history are contained inside the simple-to-mail, simple-to-display card. One of those coins is an unusual, specially themed $1 coin with the moose and the maple leaf combined on the reverse, proudly representing Canada’s wild spirit and open landscapes.
The Mint won’t be creating any 2023-dated Canadian circulation coins with both the customary reverse designs and an obverse showing Queen Elizabeth II as we concentrate on remembering her reign (1952–2022). Instead, we are providing a collector’s edition of these yearly issues, which were only printed in a small quantity. These coins are non-circulational, which means they are legal tender but not meant for widespread use. The obverse also sports a unique design with four pearls, which stand for the four effigies of Elizabeth that have graced Canadian coinage as well as the double date of her reign.
